CCY Christmas Performance

On Friday, December 19th, Brooklyn's Pre-K class had a little Christmas program for all the parents. All the kids sat in chairs in a row to sing about 5 songs. Brooklyn was such a little star. She was movin' and groovin' in her little seat. It was so funny because she could not sit still. She would have gotten up and danced if they would have let her. She had been telling me for a few weeks that she was going to be Simon from the Chipmunks in her play. The class sang the Christmas Chipmunk song, and Brooklyn got to say the "Simon part". She even made her little voice sound just like his.....soooo funny! One of the parents told me they just know Hollywood will be calling! At the end of the performance, the kids exchanged books and had their holiday party. What a great way to start all of our holiday celebrations!

Girls Night Out...Happy B-day Allison!

On Saturday, I went out with my my sister and my friend Allison and her some of her friends. It was Allison's 35th birthday. We met them at Glass Cactus and had a GREAT time! It is so nice to get out with a bunch of friends and dance and have a good time. I have to say that we took tons of pictures all night, but now we get to go back and look at them all. We were acting so goofy! What a fun night! Happy Birthday Allison!!!!

Polar Express

Today Brooklyn's class went to the Willowbend Mall to see the Polar Express exhibit. It is the coolest set up! They even got to visit with Santa before they left. Each kid got a goodie bag with a snow globe, stickers, and a train whistle. Brooklyn had so much fun!

Happy 4-0!

One of my really good friends I teach with and hang out with had her big 40th birthday party! The night had started out with me picking her up and heading to Blue Goose. Her husband headed over there early to save a big table for everyone. There were about 12 of us eating together. Danielle thought the plan after dinner was to head to Cape Buffalo to hang out and have a few drinks and play pool. Little did she know that her husband was stalling on the way out, so we could all head to Richie's house to meet everyone else and suprise her there. She walked in and everyone yelled 'happy birthday', as the DJ played 'Go Shorty, It's Your Birthday'! It was great! Her husband had set up the entire party. He had a DJ, karaoke machine, lights...the whole bit. The DJ even brought a pole along for fun. HA! There was an open bar, that everyone took advantage of. We had a great night, and needless to say, I am STILL tired from the long night, and no sleep last night. Happy Birthday Dani! Love you!

This is the gag gift our friend Dan and I gave her....

I have a few more pics as the night went on, but I probably shouldn't post those....HA!

Basketball has started back!

This season of basketball started on Saturday. Luckily it is the only sport Blake is focusing on right now, so it is pretty nice! He is on a select team called the Coppell Mavs. They have everything from jerseys, shorts, shooting shirts, and hoodies. Blake loves being on this team. It is his coach from the YMCA who decided to put this select team together. There are two teams he put together out of several boys that tried out. We had our first game, and played a much older group of boys. Our boys held their own, but still did not come out ahead. You should have seen the height on some of these kids from the other team. Oh well, I guess it is good practice. Here are some pictures of the game. Sorry some might be a little blurry. Blake is number 5.

Putting out decorations....FINALLY!

So we are a little slow this year at getting the Christmas decorations out. Oh well, what can I say.....I have had a lot on my plate lately. The kids have been asking me for DAYS when we can get everything out. My intentions were to have Christmas music playing while setting out decorations and baking yummy chocolate chip cookies. So maybe my little dream world of all of this didn't happen, but we had fun hanging the ornaments as a family, and setting up the Santas around the house. Christmas time is my favorite time of year. I love to see the kids faces and excitement with the season. Having kids during this time brings back all of my memories I had growing up. I just wish I could have someone do all of the shopping for me! HA!

The boys playing football. Blake looked forward to this for weeks! He was in heaven playing football all day.

Our family tradition on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day....Sauerkraut! YUM!!!!!

This picture cracks me up! It is kind of an inside joke between my sister and me, but I had to add it to the blog.
