Spring Break!!!!

So this is the week I have been waiting for since Christmas break???? WHAT?? I did not expect this! It is now Thursday evening, and I have been in bed since Sunday afternoon with Bronchitis and a viral infection. I have been to the doctor twice already for chest x-rays, blood work, and more fun! Well I am on my way to recovery and even plan to see two high school girl friends tomorrow for dinner. At least I will get to do something fun on my break. So enough about me! My mom and sister were wonderful enough to take the kids on a fun adventure or two each day. It started on Sunday (because technically that is the first day of our Spring Break) with some rock climbing. I actually got to go along on this one because I wasn't feeling too bad yet. I was the officially "rope girl" who held the reigns for Blake and Mandy who were the ones rock climbing. I was so proud of both of them. They made it to the top several times! By the end of that fun adventure, I was starting to feel achy so I headed home. Mandy, Blake, Mom, and Brooklyn decided to head to Rainforest Cafe to have a fun little dinner, and of course, the kids came back with loads of goodies. From Sunday on, the kids took turns having sleepovers with Mom and Mandy. From Monday until Wednesday night, they all continued the fun by having dance parties and watching cool movies, spending the next few days bowling, skating, miniature golfing, shopping, getting nails done, going to the AA Center, eating at Magic Time Machine and Crystal's Pizza. The kids had the best time. They came to bring flowers to me (awwww) and show me their new dance moves from Aunt Mandy. I missed them so much, but know that they were in great hands and had a blast. THANK YOU both for taking such good care of my babies, and showing them the best Spring Break! Now they are off for more adventures with their dad for the rest of the week.

Unfortunately the camera battery went out, so we didn't get pictures of every adventure. I guess we will have to do it all again next time :)

Open House

Last night was Blake's Open House at school. I still am amazed that he is in third grade....and almost in fourth! He walked me around his classroom to show me all of his school work, and everything he had made. Blake got pretty lucky because he was 3C's MVP, so everyone got to see his poster at Open House! Of course I had to take a picture of it! :) His teacher had asked all the parents to send in a baby picture of their child and write a little blurb about them as a baby. Then she had a "Guess That Baby" game where we got to try to figure out who everyone was. I think Blake and I did pretty good! I guess it also helps that I teach there and know most of the kids. I am so proud of all of the hard work that Blake puts into his work each day!!!! I LOVE YOU BLAKE!

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Showoffs

Well, Brooklyn couldn't let Blake get away with a trip with Aunt Mandy without getting something out of it for herself. So Mandy decided to take her to see the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader showoff show. She went the next Wednesday night to see the show. Mandy said Brooklyn ended up meeting a girl who will also be at the DCC camp this summer, so they chatted a while at the show. After the show, they had a sleepover at Mandy's. What a fun night! Quite a dream come true for Brooklyn.

Lubbock or Bust!

Two weekends ago (I know I am sooo behind on blogging), Mandy took Blake to Lubbock to see a Texas Tech basketball game. The two of them had planned this trip for a while, so when the day came, they were both ready to go! They got out on an early flight on Saturday and got there so they could tour the campus and head to the game. Blake had a blast at the game. The next day they headed to a nearby town called Snyder to see one of my dad's friends, who owns a donut shop. Soooo, on Sunday morning, Blake got up early to help out at the donut shop. He made donuts and kolaches, and got to work the front counter and drive thru taking orders and collecting money. He absolutely LOVED working at the donut shop. He even made some tips! What a fun trip that Blake will remember for a long time! Thanks Aunt Mandy!

CCY Science Fair

Brooklyn's school held a science fair for the kids at the end of February. The theme was "Up, Up, and Away". Brooklyn made a hotair balloon out of construction paper. They had a cute little display set up in the hallway of all the kids work. At the end, they gave each participant a certificate and some cotton candy.....best thing Brooklyn could get!

Fun at the park!!!

Last Thursday was GREAT weather, so we headed out to the park! Here are some of the pictures we took while havin fun!

Teddy Bear Trot

Our school held a Teddy Bear Trot at Andy Brown park to collect teddy bears and stuffed animals for the local police department. I picked up the kids from school and we headed down there to bring our stuffed animals and do some walking. It was kinda cold and windy, so we only did a lap around the pond. It was for a great cause and the kids had fun running around with some friends....and I got to chat with some friends too! :)
